The data were obtained from the periodic analysis of the Research and Communication Centres of Cipnes Gallura and UniOlbia based on the satellite data of MarineTraffic and VesselFinder and economic assessments of superyachtfan.com and Forbes.
Cipnes Gallura and UniOlbia collect and publish these data to promote the importance of boating in the economic and social growth of Sardinia. The objective is to support businesses in the sector, many of which are active in the production district of Olbia, and to encourage young people to undertake the degree courses in Tourism Economics and Naval Engineering offered by the Universities of Sassari and Cagliari in Olbia, with the support of UniOlbia.
The superyachts have an extraordinary positive effect on the economy and occupation of the territories in which they moor, as illustrated in the study of Cipnes and UniOlbia.
A 90-meter superyacht leaves the territory 40,302 euros per day. Here the complete data
During the summer 2023, 2,330 yachts and superyachts arrived between Porto Rotondo and the Costa Smeralda, 30% more than in 2018.
